The report states: "the highest overall A/E (actual to expected death) ratios occurred for ages 35-54 for both sexes in both years and the highest excess death percentage when COVID-19 is excluded was in ages 15-24 for females for both years and for males in 2020. When COVID-19 is excluded, the highest percentage for males was for ages 35-44 in 2021."

Findings:
"The 0–44 age band exhibited the highest A/E (actual to expected death) ratio across the pandemic period and has consistently shown the highest A/E by quarter since the middle of 2021....the 0–44 age band has the highest excess mortality from non-COVID causes (18.8%)"
